What’s the difference between a reactive and an aggressive dog?

Reactivity is an excessive response to a trigger, such as barking, lunging or pulling at other dogs, people or traffic, and it is often rooted in fear, frustration or overexcitement rather than a genuine intent to harm. Aggression involves intent to do harm. The two can overlap, and reactivity can escalate if left unaddressed, which is why early, structured training matters.

Why has my dog become reactive?

How do you work out what’s triggering my dog?

How long is a reactive dog training course?

As a general guide, a reactivity course typically runs three to four weeks, though the exact length depends on your dog and the triggers we’re working through. We’ll confirm a realistic timeframe once we’ve assessed them.

Do you take reactive dogs from London and outside Nottinghamshire?

Yes. Although we’re based in the Nottingham area, we regularly work with reactive dogs travelling to us from London, across Nottinghamshire and well beyond. Our residential model is designed to give owners in both rural and busy city environments access to structured training that local weekly classes often can’t deliver.
