Hi, I’m Ben Young’s, former British Irish Lions, England rugby and Leicester Tigers professional rugby player, and I took my dog Bonnie to Platinum K9 for training. 

“How would I sum up my overall experience with Platinum K9? Fantastic.”

Before coming to Platinum K9, the main issue that we have with Bonnie was her being reactive with other dogs. We’d be out on family walks. If another dog approached, it could end in disaster. And this was a huge concern, especially the young family. And we didn’t want any dogs getting hurt and especially any of the family members that were there with young children. So reactiveness was our main concern along with just basic commands. sit, no pulling on the lead, laying down, fetching a ball, bringing it back, dropping it. So, there were other bits, but our main concern, of course, was her being too reactive.

What made me choose Platinum K9 was I know that it’s proven and tested. A lot of my colleagues that I played rugby with have used them and spoke so highly of them, and I knew that she was going in a great environment, great place to get trained, going to be unbelievably well looked after, and return with all the bits that we wanted. And I think, you know, when I when I sat down with Ben and we spoke about the plan, about what she’s like, what she does, what are the things we wanted sorting out and he came and met us and we chatted through it only reinforced what I’d already been told from others just how impressive Platinum K9 is. And for me, it was an obvious choice to send her there and I’m absolutely delighted how it’s worked out. 

From the moment Ben came and met us at our family home, spoke to myself and my wife Charlotte to understand exactly what we wanted, what she needed fixing, what did we want, how does she fit into the family life, it was so clear. And then from that point onwards, we had a WhatsApp group, constant dialogue, had weekly catchups exactly what he’d been working on, exactly where she was at, what the next progression was. We got video footage, we got YouTube updates.

It was an unbelievable experience. It almost felt like you were part of the journey, you know, the problems that she did have all been resolved. So for us like you know to have a calming dog to have a dog that’s going to be a big part of the family and is a part of the family but can absolutely trust you know be very good with other people coming in the room and all those bits and bobs like it’s going to make a huge significant difference. So very happy as she is. 

I would absolutely recommend Platinum K9. For me, the way that Bonnie’s gone away, been trained, come back, totally changed our ability to take her out for walks, to trust her to do basic commands, to have her with the children. Pulling on the lead no longer exists. Seeing other dogs and being reactive no longer exists, and that is honestly so refreshing. So if you’ve had similar problems with your dog, I absolutely recommend it.
