Overview
This dog breed is a rare toy dog breed, thought to have originated in Mexico. They make great family pets due to their affectionate and playful nature. The breed is also hypoallergenic meaning they are perfect for people with dog allergies.
Background
This dog breed was bred as a lap dog for Chinese royalty when it was brought over to China in 200 BC.

Appearance
This breed is known for their unique appearance, standing at 11-13 inches tall and usually weighing around 8-12 pounds, and they are considered a ‘toy’ breed. There are two varieties of this breed, including hairless and powderpuff. Both can be found in a single litter. The difference being one has no hair, (except on their head, tail, and ankles) and the other has loads of it!
Life expectancy
This breed of dog is expected to live for 13-15 years.
Exercise
This breed of dog is low-energy so they don’t require much exercise.

Grooming
The two varieties of this breed need very different grooming routines. Hairless dogs need regular bathing and moisturising to keep their skin healthy and prevent dog acne. Powderpuff dogs require regular brushing of their fur to prevent a build up of mats and tangles.
Dog Training
This breed can learn various commands due to their intelligence, making them great to train.
