Since the UK has been having some icy spells recently, you may be wondering how cold is too cold for dogs.
The general rule is if it’s too cold for you to comfortably remain outside, it’s likely too cold for your dog too.
Tolerance to cold temperatures depends on multiple factors. The size of your dog, whether they’re short or long-haired, and even their age can affect how much your dog feels the cold.

As temperatures get cooler, it is recommended to purchase dog-paw wax to protect your dog’s paws in the colder weather. You can also purchase a dog coat to make sure your dog is nice and comfortable during winter walks.
However, if temperatures dip below freezing, it’s best to rethink the dog walk and leave it for another day.
