How Does Your Dog’s Training Transfer To You?

Dogs associate what they learn with the people they learn it from, which is why transferring the training your dog has received from us to you is imperative for their continued success.

We go through a process so your dog understands this new behaviour is attached to you, and to make sure you as their owner know how to maintain it.

WhatsApp Group

This training transfer starts right as your dog starts their training course with us. We open a WhatsApp group, which allows you to follow along with your dog’s training journey. This gives you peace of mind, from a welfare point of view, as the content shared in that WhatsApp group will simply reassure you that your dog is well looked after and cared for. We’re not a boot camp, your dog is allowed to have fun!

The second purpose of this WhatsApp group is to send you weekly progress videos. These videos show you we are doing our job effectively, the training methods are appropriate, and what the training looks like practically. The training will be explained further in the voiceover by the training team during these videos. This is so you can understand the theory behind the training, as well as the practical application.

Handover

Handovers are conducted at the end of your dog’s residential training with us. They are thorough and intensive training sessions carried out by your dog’s primary and secondary trainers, with you, the owner, and any other important person in your dog’s life, so you can be shown and taught how to continue the training received. They can last between three to five hours, although this does vary depending on the training objectives carried out. The handovers aren’t timebound, and we will not finish the handover until both parties are confident the training has transferred from us to you.

All our training and handovers are done in real-life situations, not in training fields. This is so the training can reflect your day-to-day life, such as dog parks and high streets.

Aftercare

The WhatsApp group set up at the start of training, stays open after the training course is complete, and for the rest of your dog’s life.

We guarantee to support you in maintaining the level of training achieved on the handover for the rest of your dog’s life.
