Hello, I’m Ryan Yates. I’m a footballer for Nottingham Forest and I bought my reactive Dachshund Peanut to Platinum K9 for residential training.

The issues we were having before the training were he was very reactive with dogs and people. He’d be lunging when we were at cafes and with family members who weren’t seen that often and that was the main reason we wanted to get him booked in.

I chose Platinum K9 because I was in the market looking for specific trainers and just looking for trainers who had worked with dachshunds before and then on Instagram I think they followed me a few weeks before. I dropped them a message just saying you must know I have a reactive dachshund at home. I spoke to Ben and the process started from there

I would describe the experience with Platinum K9 as just super easy, super comfortable, extremely reliable experience. I feel like Ben and Jon, from the first moment we met them at our house, were just super professional. I feel like they were really detailed and thorough in what they wanted to do with Peanut and I think just put our mind at ease straight away about how they’re going to go about training him.

There’s a few things that pleasantly surprised both me and my partner about the experience. There was so many more calls and video updates that come straight through to our phone you know when we’re missing him and during the evenings and stuff you’re usually cuddled up with him on the sofa and we might get a training video come through how he’s progressing and just seeing he’s in really safe hands throughout was just such a nice experience.

I would absolutely recommend Platinum K9. Whether it’s a small issue or a big problem, I feel like the detail that they go into, the experience of Jon and Ben, I feel talking from personal experience, what a fantastic job they’ve done with Peanut and not only teaching Peanut the right things to do but also training me and my partner to build on the foundations that they’ve set.
