Hi I’m Karen Hauer and I’m Si and we brought Phoebe to Platinum K9 for residential training. 

Phoebe’s issues were mainly a lot of reactivity. She was barking a lot when we were out on walks or when somebody would come to the door. I think we noticed a fear response in Phoebe and we wanted to change that for her. We wanted to give her a bit more freedom so that’s ultimately why we made the call to Ben and the team.

I would describe the experience as phenomenal. The change in Phoebe has been incredible and just seeing her at ease and I think that’s really calming and she’s our baby. We know we have four dogs and we just want them to be happy and seeing the way that she does things and how she reacts now instead of with the aggression and the fright that she used to have. 

The transformation that we’ve seen, the communication we’ve got from the team weekly update videos, photos, calls that have told us how she’s getting on and we’ve visibly been able to see that journey. Seeing her today is night and day. I just really love the communication and just being shown that there’s no such thing as a stupid question cause there are random things that pop into our heads and being assured that if we have questions, or anything like that, that we can ask and that it’s okay to have these doubts and it’s the reassurance.

It’s been a lovely surprise to have someone that knows about dogs so well. There’s so much information and I mean that’s what’s been great with having Ben and the handover is learning and seeing what’s been working for her and how good she’s doing and how we want to keep doing good for her.

She’s come back a different dog. We’ve had her back for a couple of hours now but the difference already for her from a comfort point of view, a reaction point of view, there is very little fear that we can see. I just think that’s phenomenal and that is the biggest thing for me.
